I'm eager to see how she rebrands herself/changes her vaudeville act for a McCain nomination. She's kind of painted herself into a corner, but she'll find a way out.

This is Ann Coulter we're talking about, not (e.g.) Hugh Hewitt. I think you underestimate (as I certainly underestimated until some of this week's entries in The Corner, the National Review blog) just how much irrational hatred some righties have for McCain, and how shortsighted their opposition can be.

(What I really truly don't understand is the fervent belief in some quarters that Hillary is more hawkish than McCain, just because she goes further out of her way to posture when it's more convenient to do so.)

You're right, I wouldn't be surprised if she decides to go full-bore against McCain all year, hope he loses, and then say "I told you so" so she can advise the Republicans on upcoming strategy.
