At my wife's cast party last night there were two TVs: A big screen projector (with screwed-up aspect ratio that made everyone on the screen look short & fat) had the Saints-Seahawks on, while a smaller screen had a syndicated "Frasier." All Seattle.
Before Frasier (but after America's Funniest Home Videos) the smaller TV had this episode of a sit-com I'd never seen before. None of the on-line synopses mention the most memorable part: that after the mother-son fight, the patriarch's mom gets a job at Playpen Video (adult movie store). When I still had no idea what show this had been, Googling "Playpen Video" got me nowhere.
The second Simpsons episode last night quite obviously featured the voice of Steve Buscemi, who played Templeton (the rat) in a recent adaptation of Charlotte's Web (Dakota Fanning was Fern). The children's play my wife just finished directing was a musical version of Charlotte's Web, with Templeton played by a redheaded girl who probably doesn't have much in common with Steve Buscemi.
