Keep it in your freezer. Volokh seems to be right that all Russians know this, yet surprisingly few non-Russians do.

Supposedly, you can make really cheap-ass vodka taste good by running it through a Brita pitcher four or five times. Never tried it, though, and probably won't have cause to (since the cheap stuff always has gluten in it).
