Posted by: M.S. at January 10, 2006 11:29 AMI'll save Matt the trouble and say I looked up Lugar and he didn't go to Notre Dame.
Posted by: M.S. at January 10, 2006 01:05 PMI was thinking Pete DuPont, but I'll go with Alan Keyes. I bet DuPont went to Princeton or something.
Posted by: Brian Rostron at January 10, 2006 01:19 PMI'd guess Bruce Babbitt - he was a ND grad, at least.
You can't stop Mark on these, you can only hope to contain him.
Clue #2 was to be that he governed a state whose current governor is a plausible future presidential candidate, even though their political party is distinctly in that state's minority.
From there to "Clinton's Secretary of the Interior" to "1988 Democrat."
Posted by: me at January 10, 2006 01:50 PMI was going to guess Lugar, too. Who knew a Democrat proposed a national sales tax.
