(Who wrote the pack a few years back in which every tossup began "Two answers required"? Gerbils?)
If you were in Chattanooga this weekend, tell me something interesting that happened on any given question or in any given round. Bonus points if that question (or even that round) came from me.
Believe it was the Gerbils wrote an all "Name's the Same" packet a few years ago, with the answer on Tossup 20 being "The Name's the Same".
What packet were you responsible/partly responsible for? (fighting a head cold here)
A few highlights...
-- The Shorter team taping (via cell phone) a teammate performing various dances as part of a physical bonus.
-- A Georgia Perimeter player getting a tossup on rapper Gucci Man (sp?) based on the fact that his sister went to school with the guy. (BTW, he was the only player in the tourney to get said Q right)
-- Hit the last two tossups to clinch our win against Burger/Barker/Kidder/Meyvis. Answers were Jane Leeves (which I buzzed off a Benny Hill reference) and Joanie "Chyna" Laurer. Fiancee/coach Susanne Akin shook her head in disbelief :)
-- Susanne was also pleased in me getting the Eli Gold part in the NASCAR announcers bonus (fan of Alabama football, though she attended UAB), but was not happy when I couldn't remember Mike DuBose.
Posted by: James Dinan at December 6, 2005 12:50 PMyeah, we did both the two answers required and the name's the same packs. This year our theme was more subtle, and went over pretty well.
our high/lowlights included:
My missing the K-Tel Hell finals for the first time since the event's inception
Chris screwing up "Golden Spikes" YET AGAIN. I think the only time he hasn't missed this question was the one time I got it; when they led off with the GS-winner I used to work with.
Posted by: Greg at December 6, 2005 01:02 PMQuestion begins with a reference to an urging that his disciples wear pirate-themed regalia. I immediately buzz with Maddox, of The Best Page in the Universe, and am very wrong. Things are compounded by no one else in the room short of Craig having any idea what the hell I'm talking about.
Answer was the Flying Spaghetti Monster, of which I have no idea beyond not getting questions regarding it before.
Posted by: Cooch at December 6, 2005 09:14 PMCooch fails to mention how he interrupted an already negged-TU to answer "Jimy Williams" rather than the correct answer, "Bobby Cox." This on the first TU of the tournament. It did have the bonus of setting Rosenberg off, though.

Sound like fun packs.
