Bad Guys With Targets On Their Heads

Two unrelated stories:

1. I know Hugo Chavez is pretty rotten but how did he beat Robert Mugabe to "Right-wing American TV hosts openly call for his assassination" status? I'd have thought Mugabe was a lock for this.

2. Good riddance to the nastiest college hoops coach ever.

What Other People Say

Mugabe's anti-gay stance probably gives him a free pass.

Also, Zimbabwe has no oil.

Just where does calling for anyone's assassination fit in Christianity?

No wonder some people think all we Christians are kooks.

Chavez is committing the mortal sin of allying with Castro. He's giving him cheap oil and picking fights with the U.S.

Mugabe's doing much worse things against his own people, but he isn't directly challenging the U.S., and Zimbabwe is so far away that it's easy not to get obsessed over it. Which is a shame, because Mugabe is number 1 on my list for despots who need to die, soon, for the benefit of their people Kim Jong-Il would be number 1 if I had any confidence that North Korea would be able to profit from it.

oh, and the proper term for Robertson is of course "radical Christian cleric."

Mugabe prefers to directly challenge Britain on a regular basis, so perhaps the British Pat Robertson has taken a few potshots at him.

2. Good riddance? Picking the Bearcats to lose earlier than everyone else was a great way to pick up points in March Madness pools.
